Public Administration and Social Welfare

The Division was created in 1999 as a result of amalgamating two departments: Public Administration and Social Welfare. With this integrative restructuring, the Division has a great opportunity for students to take a more balanced program of studies, and also to study and work closely together, particularly to explore the ways of improving both government and social welfare functions. This would allow us to respond to the needs emerging from rapidly changing environments in 21st century. Overall, through its two major programmings -public administration and social welfare -, the Division can facilitate the implementation of the majors programs of producing skilled, innovative and effective administrative and/or social welfare professionals. They could address more effectively the political, economic and social conditions affecting the region and nation.

  Public Administration Major

The Public Administration Major is committed to education and research programs in the fields of public administration and public policy. We have a mandate to prepare professional public administrators/managers who seek to meet changing demands and challenges in public service, to serve community and nation through extending Public Administration expertise and intellectual resources, and to advance the state of Professor knowledge in the field of Public Administration.

  Social Welfare Major

The Major program consists of the methods of social work practice for treatment of social maladjustment, social policy, administration of social welfare, and research methodology. The major focus is on exploring and training professional manpower for social welfare and social development. Accordingly, an emphasis is equally placed on both theoretical and practical training in cooperation with private and public welfare agencies.
