The
Institute for Biodiversity Research was established
in 1995 to facilitate our understanding of biological
diversity and its conservation through studying the
composition, structure and function of biota at genetic,
species and ecosystem levels. The main activities of
the Institute cover the following fields:
-
Systematics
and evolution of vulnerable, endangered, keystone and
endemic organism in Asia and Korea.
-
Inventorying
ecosystems and monitoring habitat change.
-
Study
of composition, structure and interaction of soil community
and its function in soil development.

-
Conservation,
restoration and sustainable use of biodiversity related
to economic and social factors.
-
