The School of Medicine is organized into two major divisions,
the Departments of Medicine and Nursing, which run the systematic
and well structured programs for training physicians and nurses
who are determined to devote themselves to serve medical and
health care needs of the society. The major programs of courses
in the School are to provide students with resource rich and
diverse opportunities to acquire a requisite knowledge base
in the biomedical sciences. Further it is for the career professionals
to learn skills of the applications of this knowledge to practical
situations in the community. The School has many laboratories
for the research work of the faculty and staff, which are
also involved in a wide range of experiments to be performed
for instructional functions for students. There are three
research institutes in the School: the Institute of Medical
Science, the Clinical Research Center, and the Institute of
Cardiovascular Research, which support the collaborated researches
for the faculty, staff, and graduate students. The Medical
Library holds various types of medical journals and other
data, which are available for the ongoing research and teaching
programs. The University Hospital affiliated with the School
of Medicine has the program for the clinical practice of students,
in which they experience the case-oriented medical and health
care practices.
